Introduction
Almarai is undoubtedly the largest single daily company in the whole of Middle East. The company was founded in 1977 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through a vertical integration with  Alastair McGuckian which is an agro-food company based in Ireland (Pendleton, 2013).Almarai absorbed Western Bakeries based in Jeddah in 2007 and hence entered the bakery industry. The company also acquired Hail Agricultural Development Company (HADCO) in 2009 hence entering the poultry industry with a bang leading to its launch of the Alyoum. IN 2009, too, it partnered up with PepsiCo on the International Dairy and Juice (IDJ) Company which marked one of its greatest geographical expansions.
