The main advantage of circuit switching is that it is highly reliable for its use. When the circuit is set up, the communication is faster and error free. Another advantage is that it allows for higher switching capacity to be used thus efficiency in communication and in the devices used. The other merit is that the response time does not diminish and any buffers in the path can be eliminated (Moussavi, 2012).
