Ratios are the key cornerstones in understanding public health, mortality, and mobility of population. The ratios are also used in valuing plain numbers of events such as birth rates, death rates, and hospital admissions.  For this reason, ratios play a vital role in developing public health and determining different activities related to human health. For example, the department of health determines the number of death rates within a year and the number of birth rates in the same year. The main reason for this is to determine the population inhibiting a certain country or community. Therefore, ratios are very important in public health because they assist in planning economy (Andresen, & Bouldin, 2010). Family planning in different countries was created by use of ratios because they were used to determine the number of birth rate and the number of deaths rates within a certain country.
