Introduction
Theodore Robert Bundy was an American serial killer, burglar, rapist and kidnaper of the 1970s who murdered young women and girls after assaulting them sexually (Holmes & Holmes, 2000). During his execution Bundy confessed to 30 homicides in a period of four years since 1974. However, the true number of victims is not known with fears estimating the number to be higher than what he confessed. Bundy was born Theodore Robert Cowell on November 24, 1946 in Burlington, Vermont, United States.
Many of his victims reported that he was charismatic and handsome, and he used these traits to belie his true motives and take advantage of his victims’ innocence. He would approach his victims in public places and while impersonating a prominent figure or faking disability or injury, he would empower them and take them to more secluded places where he would assault and kill them.
